Now that's what I call an electric car! It was on last weeks Supercars Exposed show. Fantastic numbers - too bad companies can't make a car like that with a reasonable price tag.

When power storage evolves to a point where it becomes a non-issue...then we'll see normal-looking electric cars. Until then, conserving energy and stretching aerodynamics to the limit is the science behind electric vehicles, sadly.

Whichever company can cross that line first will get the sales. Function may come before form but it is form which sells. Just ask Pontiac and the Aztec team.

Capacitors are much better suited to hybrids than electric cars. Even super capacitors have low energy density, but the advantage is that they release that energy very quickly. They can also build up a charge from using the brakes more efficiently than a battery. So if all you are using them for is a burst off the line, they are almost ideal. To power a car full time? Not so much
