These are really amazing times. It brings me back to 1986 when I got my first GT. Only this time the cars have about twice the horsepower.

I wish I was in financial position to afford one of these bad-ass cars, but for now I'll just have to live vicariously through you guys.

The times these new Mustang's are getting is even more impressive to me, considering these cars aren't even broke in yet, and the conditions they're running in are less than ideal.

I think we'll see even more impressive numbers this fall when the weathers better, and there are cars running with some miles on them.

These cars all rock.

^ I know this fall we might see a stock GT with sticky tires dip into the 11's on a cool night in Englishtown or another fast track. Evan Smith just ran a best ET of 12.342 with a 1.758 60 in the latest MMFF during the heat of summer with brand new 5.0.

GOD D*MN! Has he run an SS, yet? I'm not sure it would best the best time posted in the Forum, however, if I know if there's anything left in a car, he'll find it.

12.3 bone stock? Kudos to Smith. But I would really like to see him run an LS3 SS.

I have seen LS3 cars dyno 39xrwhp before stock as well. Huggerorange...a member on here bought his car used with around 3k miles on it. I think he dynoed 392 RWHP. The car is now making 42x rwhp with long tubes and has not even been tuned yet. They definitely get stronger with more miles.

The camaro used in the comparison on the dyno charts had 250miles on it as well. It was a fair comparison.
Those numbers are about to go North very soon

To clarify, bone stock with DRs on the 18" wheels. With the original tires, it went 12.69. This was in Gainsville, FL.

bone stock + DRs + 18" rims = NOT bone stock

That's correct. 12.69 was bone stock.

why do think that?

if you have a car that has 18 in rims and put a DR on it, its still bone stock

To put this simply,

Stock- unchanged from the factory, however replacing irrelevant things with different brands (such as air filters/oil) is usually still considered stock.
Modified- removing/adding parts, which includes replacing them with aftermarket parts.

Tires and wheels are both two major parts that effect a vehicle's performance too much for the said vehicle to be still considered "stock."

It depends on how you define stock, doesn't it?

From a warranty perspective -- your differential explodes and you take your new car to the dealer on a flat bed. Is this covered with the OE tires and wheels, probably. Is this failure covered with the sticker drag radials, probably not because the OE MFG does not do durability testing with drag radials. They test with the OE tire and wheel package. It would not be considered stock.

From a purist perspective, the car is bone stock except for the aftermarket rear wheels and tires.

In the drag racing world, I am not sure if you would see a bone stock class accept a vehicle with drag radials. Would they?

What are you going to do? Cam, H/C or supercharger? Nitrous?...(not a fan of that but up to you)

H/C supercharger is nice if you can afford it. The place where I got my tune had one that was making 600rwhp with only 6-8 psi I believe...H/C and TVS. The license plate said "youdlse" lol

Still wondering if I should spend the extra money on heads. They dont show much gain for the price IMO (20-30hp)

BTW...did you keep your 4th gen? That was a sweet car.
