What octane is recommended for the Camaro SS?
I garantee that 90 percent of camaros got 87 on the dealer fill up. I was the only one at our dealer to put in 93 on new car dilerveries. I got in trouble from the boss because it was more money lol. I no longer am aloud to fill em up.

Agreed. Probably more than 90% actually.

Cool! I've never seen to separate cars compared like that before...all on the same dyno, that's neat!

Mine had less than an 1/8 of a tank in it when the dealer brought me to the gas station to fill up. The guy asked me what I wanted in it when he was out there pumping it for me. I got 93! I guess I will be happy to be one of the less than 10% out there.

Dealers should fill the cars with the recommended gasoline imo.

At one of our track sessions, we had a couple of automotive writers. We put them out on track with our test driver in the OE version of a Camaro. All insisted they were driving professionals and a full on run would be nothing out of the ordinary. Well after the OE vehicle run, two refused to get in the Pedderised Camaro.

I have always been skeptical of what I see in print. What I saw at the track day has made me even more skeptical of the 'experts'.

I went to the stealership today to check out the 5.0. I must say the allure of the new Mustang is almost gone. I still like it, but don't love it.

Camaro looks better without a doubt. (I know that is subjective)--

But they don't. I was going to lunch with my boss and we were in a c6 vette and he still put 87 in it. The owners of dealers are tight wads lol.

I said the same thing when I first bought my Camaro in March. I test drove both back to back (a 2010 GT, obviously) and the Mustang felt fine. It was comfortable enough, fast enough, felt fine driving it. But it certainly didn't make my heart race. Nobody gave us a second look on the 30 min test drive. The process was altogether ho-hum... much like buying a family sedan. It was just business as I looked over the lot at the various Mustang colors and options. An hour later I'm down the block test driving a new Camaro SS and it was simply thrilling to look at them, much less drive them! On the 30 min test drive, I got 2 thumbs up and noticed several others staring as we drove past. You simply feel like a celebrity in a Camaro! I also couldn't believe the Camaro was only .6 faster in the quarter. It felt like an absolute BEAST in comparison to the 4.6L GT. Only one of them raised my pulse. I knew right then which one I'd be buying and have loved life every day since!

On a side note, I asked the young ford sales guys how these 2010s were selling with the knowledge that they would be getting a MUCH improved engine in a few months. He knew nothing of that news. His reply, "Really? oh well if you want that new power from the 2011s, it'll just be a chip. Bring your 2010 back to the dealership when they hit the streets and we'll give you that chip." How do these people make a living selling cars?
