Not to derail the thread or dis your son's plight or anything but.... 90 *whole* degrees?

Yikes, you better never move south. Here in Texas, 100-110 is rather common. In San Antonio, where the main Air Force basic training base is, there are whole months where they train indoors due to the heat. 90 degrees for us is like a pleasant Spring day.

But is it humid too???...the humidity here in NY is another factor to think about with the high temps....they post the 'heat index', which combines the heat + humidity = heat index....that can easily exceed 100+ degrees here in the summer...

Can it get humid in Dallas. Hmm. I'm guessing you've never been here before. The temps I quoted are minus the humidity factor. If you want to toss all the heat index in there, we've had days over 110 easily. Those are the days where it's really not useful to take a shower because all it takes is for you to open your door for less than a minute to be sweating all over again.

Down here, we have scores of people in the summer who volunteer their time to go make sure the poorly and elderly have working AC units because if they didn't, people would die in their homes.

THANKS FOR YOUR VERY KIND WORDS...IT'S TOUGH BEING A MOM OR DAD SOMETIMES...IT IS A HELPLESS FEELING WHEN OUR 'BABIES' ARE HURTING, REGARDLESS OF HOW YOUNG OR OLD THEY ARE...

Thanks for reposting Donna.

Heatstroke can hit anyone, anytime, anyplace and it can be deadly.

Thank You for sharing and glad it is a year later and your son is alright.

Drink plenty of water not just gatorade.
Gatorade is not very helpful if you are already dehydrated.

I washed my car today and I'm jut glad I did it early when it was still in the mid 80's and not high 90's.
