Anyone buy a 3D TV yet?

Ah, its all in fun. I love 3D but I want a huge screen.

I hate to tell you... but you guys are crazy as hell if you think its going to take more than 5 years for 3D to drop the glasses.

Stop for a second and think about how quickly things advance now.

HD was out for a while... then 1080 hit the streets and ran with it... Plasma.. LCD.... LED LCD... each major advancement is coming quicker and quicker and quicker.

I give it 4 years tops before they have a mass produced glasses free 3d set... hell, maybe even 2 years... I think that by Xmas 2011, it should have been created... even if it is not available to the general public

They already have some that are "glasses free", it's that they just aren't producing them on a mass level (I haven't done much research on the Nintendo 3DS, but it is supposed to do this).

I have no doubt that people will buy them, just to keep up with their neighbor. I'm just saying that it's not worth the few movies or games that will be coming out every year.

You hit the point exactly. People are not aware that we are advancing exponentially. Smart-phones are obsolete/replaced/upgraded within 6 months.

I swear I tell you this right now. There likely is going to be a tech breakthrough that is so advanced, that it's scary. Think about tech that makes people live to be 200 years old.

But Like you said, 3D TV will be standard and cheap. 5 bucks for new 3D glasses. there WILL be 3D porn since anyone will be able to buy a hand held 3D camera for home use.

THE worst thing to be concerned about in the future is "nano" stuff if that is even real.

As far as porn goes- porn has been a major force in most video technology as I understand. VHS vs Beta, DVD vs Laserdisk, Blue ray vs HD DVD- so I wouldn't be surprised if the tv manufacturers really start pushing 3d as soon as porn jumps on board.

Yeah... I love how the new Iphone is about to come out.. and the upgrade packages for phones is usually 2 years... but Apple damn near comes out with a new Iphone each year
