Since Pioneer is no longer in the game Panasonic plasma's are the best you can buy. Their orbital technology which prevents burn in and their superior glass panels cannot be beat.

Look at the deep blacks and bright colors you can get from a panasonic and compare it to an LG or Samsung. There is no comparison, Panasonic will win every time.

I hear you cant use regular HDMI cable with 3D plus you have to use a different receiver. It's just not worth it if you do.

I would hold off. The tech is still very new and they are getting better stuff every day. Unless you have to have it. Save your money. The sets now currently require everyone wear an expensive pair of glasses future sets will eliminate this need and they will benefit from improved technologies.

There is a new HDMI cable you need to use for 3D yes, I believe its HDMI 1.5 but it works with all existing stuff. As for the receiver, your cable company should supply that for free however I didn't need a new receiver to get 3D, otherwise if youre using OTA the tuner is built in.

yeah, right now those $150 glasses you have to buy are holding me back. Will wait for a tv that uses cheaper glasses or no glasses at all

I'll pass. I remember reading something some weeks ago about how it affects your eyes on a long-term basis. Not only that, but it's almost pointless, how many movies per year are you going to watch? A few at most.

In 10 years when they come out with 3D that you don't have to wear glasses to watch, I'll bite.
