After catching up, I have to say:
If you can't post a reasonable, mature argument, for or against, then don't hit the submit button. Just watch by the sidelines. back to the discussion ... Quote:
As for being practicality, in the early 2000's Daimler-Chrysler needed a car with mass appeal for Dodge. Something thats impractical doesn't have mass appeal. Before you go thinking this is some sort of blasphemy, you could fit a family of 4 into a classic Charger without much trouble. It a large car and the super long doors made entry and exit into the rear relatively easy (especially for kids) and compared to smaller 2 door cars the extra size allowed for more passenger space in the rear, making it reasonably comforable. Also, there weren't many Chargers that had 400+ hp. We think of it purely as a muscle car with a big 426 hemi, but those were very rare. Under modern power ratings, few would have made more than 300 hp, let alone 400.

At the very least they should have *offered* a 2-door option. |

a two door option would have been awesome but i dont think a 2 door full sized car would be very popular or practical today. It seemed like people were more willing to pay for style over practicality in the past, maybe because cars are so expensive today, people arent willing to take that leap and want more from their cars. just guessing though

Getting kids into the back seat of a car isn't the same as it was 40 years ago ... and neither are side impact regulations.

Large, 2 door cars where cool and had their time and place, but that style has run its course. Today, it wouldn't sell enough to make up the engineering costs, which is why we don't have the Thunderbird and Monte Carlo anymore. The side impact regulations might be part of it. I imagine that takes away some of the design freedom that made access easier with 2-doors in the past.

Found this while searching for more pictures on google.
![]() The picture has been elongated a little, I'm guessing. After comparing it to spy shots, I shrank it back do the size that seems to match up. Here's what I got. The first picture is resized, the second is compared to a spy shot (body lines in red, window lines in black), the third is the full sized spy shot that I compared it to, the 4th is my point for posting these.... Do the body lines look familiar to anyone? Last edited by Camaro Lives On; 06-05-2010 at 07:24 PM. |

I love the Dodge Charger. I traded in my 07' RT for my beloved Camaro. Actually, the four doors are great if you have kids. Will there be a change in the hp in the engines (RT/SRT8)?
