Redline is 6600 in the ls3, 6000 in the l99. Just checked. You should be shifting after 6k though. An ls3 may be better off shifting just before redline, but I'm not sure as I've never driven one down the track.

what tune do you have? shifting at only 6k is gonna kill your e/t and trap, especially when the motor falls flat when you put it into 3rd at only 6k

lol..no i have a stick shift with 4.10's. and 6k is about right for me...my car doesnt really make any usable power after 6k according to my dyno sheet.

but i used to have an 05 with an auto. that one made 281 @ the tire and ran 13.3's @ 104 all day with just gears exhaust (stock manifolds) and a CAI/tune

281 running 13.3 wow, impressive.... I wish the track here would learn how to prep. My best run is a 13.3@106... last week i was running 14s all over. One of my buds with an 05 stock gt, just redid his headers, tuned, CAI and everything and he couldn't even break into the 13s... was running straight 14.0-14.1 while I was running 13.9-14.0.... We were pretty pissed....

i was pretty impressed with it too...my best pass of that evening was a 13.2@105. but that was down at No Problem Raceway in Louisiana...humidity sucks!

ive only gone to the track once in this car and with just a CAI and stock 3.31s i went 13.9@103 ...my 60 fts were terrible ~2.2. yknow now that i think about it...ive never gotten a "corrected" time anytime ive gone to the track.

Werd. My 60' were like 2.7, 2.5 last week. I was just in disbelief. My 13.3 run I had a 60' of 2.1, never been able to get into 2.0, 1.9, but that's what my $719 305 nittos are going to be for

oh damn man...you gotta do something about those 60's! thats mostly why i havent been to the track in my cars current configuration...on my stock tires i know im gonna have some shitty ET. so if i do go ill be looking mostly at mph as my indicator as to what the car can really do. should see ~107-108 mph or so.

Nothing I can really do about the '60s with my current tire config. Having 21s that are street tires doesn't help one bit. The only reason I hit that 13.3 is because I did a massive burnout before the two runs I ran 13.3.... After I hit that 13.3 i was like okay there got $500 worth of tires, time to just take it easy and run my usual 13.5 13.6 lol

lol i understand that...my buddy has a Vortech blown 07 GT with 20's...he was SO happy when he ran a 12.9@ 117 at the track. i tried not to burst his bubble...but he, like you, knew that his tires were a big contribution to why his car didnt ET. for his power level i still think his mph is low too (he could drive it a little better if ya know what i mean)

Haha wow high 12 with a vortech :O Wonder how he'd feel when a stock LS3 beat him lol.

I try everything. Since it's auto no real shifting, but many people forget that launching an auto is just as hard as launching a manual, if not harder, since I can prime my engine to 4,500rpm... Won't let me go passed 1,500 :(

hahah...i doubt a stock LS3 would beat him..he did whittle it down to a 12.5@ 118...but like i said i think his car should be trapping closer to 122-123 with his hp level.

does anyone make a stall converter for your cars? i always hated those ****ers in the LS1s...they were nasty on the street and the track.

ps. theres a guy with an LS7 Vette on our mustang forum talking smack. i love it!
