Looked the the Viper ACR was the top American Dog on that list. Nothing against the ZR1-just the title of the thread.

Purportedly, a "prototype" of this car ably driven by Leh Keen won this year's One Lap of America, 4 weeks ago... At the events where Ron Adee's well-prepped and -driven ZR1 showed up, Keen kicked hiney. Of course, Leh does this sort of thing for a living, having just won Class and Second Overall at the recent Nurburgring 24.

Don't count the ZR1 out just yet, you would be amazed at how the thing accelerates from highway speeds (where both cars do best-because of RWD and monster engines). Im thinking it would be close between the two, with a slight edge going to the porsche.

take the money that thing costs and put it into the camaro and you would probably have a six second car.i think if you make a comparison in cars,you would have to do it in the same price range.

The comparisons should be stock for stock, and we aren't talking about quarter mile times, but the Nurburgring. It laps it a whopping 8 seconds faster than the zr1 (4 faster than the unofficial time).

Wow...double the cost of a ZR1 and you shave 12 seconds off the Nurburgring? I will keep the cash and have a more balanced car (the Porsche has ALWAYS been tailhappy).

There is no denying the Porsche is sexy, though. And the good news is that there will only be 500 of them EVER...so I doubt you will see any actually DRIVEN beyond the climate controlled storage garages of the collectors.

Hey GM - see those seats? MAYBE we could buy some of those for the Vette?
