2010 Nissan 370Z Pics Revealed!
These are three links with some pics of the new 2010 370Z, they have been released a week early. The Nissan 370Z was suppossed to be under wraps until Nov. 19th for the LA Auto Show, but Nissan couldn't wait any longer to reveal their new sports car to the public.
http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2008/10...al-photos.html http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2008/11...-dressing.html http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2008/11...-rated-at.html While some specs on the car are speculated like the 332 HP, the only thing we know for sure is the car will be aprrox. 300lbs lighter than the last Z which should put it in the 3000-3200 lbs range depending on the model. If this is true your looking at a 650-800 lb advantage to the 370Z And, it will use a 3.7L V6 with at least 330 HP,which can only put it at a max of 90 HP disadvantage to the SS LS3, but it will weigh alot less. The truth is if this car is that light it will be stiff competition to cars such as the Camaro. With a much better power to weight ratio, this car may even accelerate just as fast, and it will no doubt handle better than the Camaro. And, anyone that thinks it can't be faster should do their homework, HP doesn't mean anything in todays game. It is all about weight to power. We see 6 cylinder Porsche's, with alot less power, keep up with Corvettes, and why because they are slightly lighter. We see LS2 Corvette's beat GT500's, with a 100HP disadvantage, because of weight. The truth is my first car was a 350Z, and out of all my Porsche's, Vettes, Etc... the Z was my favorite car. It handled the best at high speeds, was the most reliable for me, and was the best everyday driver of all of my sportscars. My Porsche's engines always leaked after services, my Vettes had numerous amounts of minor interior, roof, problems until I bought my '09 which had a bad transmission, which is being recalled for 2nd gear. So, this being said if the 370Z is anything liek the 350Z or better, the 370Z could be trouble for the Camaro!

I doubt the price will start around 40k. The current model starts under 29k, which is still not cheap, but a 10k jump in price??? I seriously doubt it will start anywhere near 40k. My guess, based on Road and Track's guess, would be base model starting at 30k or so. At that price point it doesn't compete with the Camaro in options and everything else, just power. It will top out above 40k, but won't start there.

The infiniti G37 weighs about 3650lbs with the exact same drivetrain, obviously this car is smaller but taking 600 lbs out of it sounds like a lot. My guess is around 3200 which will make it pretty quick. This will be a high revving, torque-less motor, so in my opinion won't be as fun as a V8. You will have to really work that motor above 5000 rpm to go fast in this car. It will definitely be competition for the Camaro SS though with that power to weight ratio, but it is a little but of an unfair comparison as it is a very small 2 seater. If this car gets too much more expensive I think they will kill their market just like they did in the 90's though.

And what kind of torque will this 370Z have? I dont expect much.... Which means that even though it will be lighter, it still wont have the torque to accerate as fast as the Camaro. Its all about the torque.

I got to say that car looks pretty sweet. It reminds me of the Porsche 928 from the 80's, think "Risky Business," it has pretty nice lines. And, it looks very expensive. The lights took a while to get used to, but the Orange interior is sweet! I has a '03 and '04 Sunset Le Mans with the Burnt Orange Interior, it was awesome. If they make that color again or any sweet orange and the car sweeps me off my feet, I might consider getting one and ditching the SS! I already talked to my Dad's friend who owns the Nissan dealership where I bought my other Z's, and he said when he gets one in January he'll let me borrow one for the weekend!
I love the Camaro SS, but as an everyday driver nothing was better than my Z. The reliabilty will be most likely better. And this GM crisis scares me. I for one don't want a Camaro if GM goes out, yeah the car will be worth alot but I want a car that I can enjoy and not have to worry about a warranty.

Much better power to weight? How do you figure? They both run around 9.4 lb/hp.

they will have similiar acceleration times, i think the SS will have a higher top speed, and will reach 100 mph and up faster, but it will be close. The truth is the SS will pull harder and have a nasty sounding V8 pulling it, but the Z will be lighter and more nimble, and will more likely handle a little better! A SS will probably win the "Gotta-Have-It" Award, while the Z will probably win the "Fun-Factor" Award! But, I decided today that no matter how good the new Z is I will get a SS reguardless, I've waited since '06 for this car, nothing will stop me from getting this car, unless GM goes bankrupt before the Camaro is in my garage! But, I pray it doesn't come to that!
