Around here nobody knows about the challenger. Think about it the only way they would know about it is from reading about it or something. Transformers in my opinion helped alot. Ive heard even girls that like the car. Even when people have heard of the challenger they think its just a replica and its kinda a "hick" car.

Well...that's because it is! That's what Dodge planned on doing with it, a low-production, full-retro!.
IMO, they're going to get a big response to that car..."I love it but I can't afford it!". Then maybe they'll re-design it, and offer it up like the 'Maro, 100,000-150,000 units.

As far as I know the GT has never had a supercharger, the 89 gt 5.0 my family had didn't and I know the 2005+ GT doesn't.

wow, took me a long time to read all of this. my opinions:
the cover on the new mustang is to hide one little "boss" emblem on the front and side fenders as far as mustang FINALLY upgrading their engine size in thier moderate v-8 cars, thank you. now I have some competition. hell, my inline-6 in my 78 camaro was a 4.8 liter. one thing to keep in mind is that ford will raise the price for these "more-powerful" engines. even tho they are just starting to touch the Camaro's power. The challenger is just that, a challenger. the camaro is a Champion. the mustang is just a worn out name with 5000 faces. I was reading an article about a supercharger for the mustang GT that would raise its horsepower up to 400. ooooooooooooh, a 400hp mustang...wait, its supercharged? oooooooooooooooh, my 13yr old, stock internal, 170k LT1 has 400hp N/A! its really a shame that they have to supercharge everything to get any real power from it. and even then its not a whole lot of power. why spend $4k to make urself half-way fast (on top of the 35-40k you spent for the car) when you could have just bought a camaro and still been faster?

Or even better, Buy a Camaro and be faster, then when they add their supercharger to finally catch up to you...."level the playing field"
and add a supercharger to your Camaro . If an average of a 50% power gain is a fair average, Then we're talking about a 600hp Camaro  . Now watch the Mustang try to beat that...![]() -OR- just stay stock and use the Camaro's superior handleing to whoop the itty-bitty S/C Mustang... |

GM performance sells superchargers? I thought that was a strictly aftermarket ...market...
![]() Would you be able to post a link to any current superchargers GM offers? Thanks!

Everyone should keep in mind that that information is for an engine and car that cannot currently be bought. As for right now, it says that they sell supercharger kits for the ecotec as well as supercharged 3800 series v6 crate engineshttp://www.gmperformanceparts.com/Pa...ut=Part+Number

It seems like everybody (manufacturers) prefer the roots style supercharger...GM has roots on all of those, Ford uses roots on the shelby GT500.
I know this should be popped into another thread, but WHY?!?! What's so great about them compared to twin-screw, or centrfugal? |

just a guess but . . . from what i know of pumps, the gear/lobe/roots style is not only cheaper but also more reliable and i think it can operate at lower speeds too. however this comes at the expense of noise and lower pressure ratings compared to a centrifigal.
