Things that are 'tweaked' like the thinner headlights you mentioned, or the smoother fascia, can be identified with relative ease when you can look at one thats sitting still (even more so when there are two together to look at simultaneously). But unless you have a perfect mental image of what the cars were like before, comparitive differences like that are hard to spot at a glance. But now that I look closer, a more obvious element is the vertical body coloured piece between the headlights. Old ones have it, new ones don't. That can stand out a lot more than everything we've mentioned thus far.

Now, how do you tell them apart from the side ....

I am personally more than a little skeptical myself, but I am not ready to call anybody a liar. That said, do remember that 1/4 mile trap speeds are probably artificially low in many of the manual transmission 1/4 mile times we have seen thus far because the 3.73:1 gears would seem to put the 5.0L on top of the rev limiter at about 112mph or so. In turn that would seem to indicate the possibility that folks are finding themselves riding through the traps bouncing off the rev limiter in third given the trap speeds we have been seeing

For this reason a lot of us think the fastest 2011 GT will be a Brembo equipped 5.0L with the 3.55:1 gears since that gear set will allow you to run through the traps in third without hitting the rev limiter. In fact, that will be exactly the package I buy in the next few months.

doesn't really make sense to me........115 mph stock? thats WAYY outside of the normal statistical range for this car. if it was like 112.5 or 113 i'd be like yea maybe the track was really good that night........but 115? thats just WAYYY outside the next highest trap for that car and i'm quite skeptical to say the least. i'd love to believe the car can actually do that but yea im pretty sure that the car is NOT stock.

dont think mike's car is tuned, but evo's is as they are testers for the new tuning software.

the ET seems possible, but the 115 seems high, but he did trap 114 also, so maybe its not.

and there arent many boltons even out yet lol

Maybe because that is his shop or business name.

Didn't you throw 312hp stickers on your car?

120.29 is the best trap I have seen stock.

And the best e.t. was 11.95 stock.

I am willing to guess the 2011 GT500 will trap 120-122mph stock.

As much as it sucks that out of the gate the GT appears to be able to outrun the SS, it's all driver. I run my SS about once a month and still havent gotten into the 12's, but consistantly outrun a buddy with a 08 - Kenne Bell Blown - GT. He is dyno'ing at 467 to the tire and Im just knocking on the 400 door.. So Even if this car has got the guts, we will all be pretty even at the track until the third bulb burns. Then its up to the driver.. Bench racing is easy.. 1320 is a whole other ballgame.

Not much to driving an auto with traction control on.

I agree about the tree though. Win or lose races by it.

Even the auto will require the right launch technique.. First pass ever and this guy is pulling 2.0 60' times.. He knows how to drive.. The R/T and the launch is everything..

Either way.. We'll see the true story on Friday and Saturday nights.. I love it..

Nope. No stickers, nothing on my car to advertise anything done to it.

Also, his business or not, throwing that decal on the window is asking to be called out. I understand advertising himself, but on a car that isn't tuned by him? I don't know, to each their own.

Besides, my car is a touch better then 312, lol...
