Won't miss ya.......By god those were the most useless SUVs on the street. You couldn't take them off-road and you couldn't fit any sizeable volume of cargo in those things. Even when gas was cheap they were worthless.

The H1 and H3 were great off road- not sure why you'd say that? H2 was a street queen though.

Well, H1 was just a re-purposed HMMWV with some civilian paint, so yeah, it definitely rocked off road - speaking from experience there Can't speak to the H2 or H3's ability off road though.

H3s were really good off-road; you could get a 4.03 transfer case with a 4.56 final drive and locking diff's plus 33inch tires stock and bilstien custom valved shocks. The H3s were beasts off-road. Just because Soccer Mom's chose to buy them doesn't detract from their ability.

I'm actually sort of sad about the whole thing.

That's all well and good, but did they have a fording-kit? Just kiddin, those do sound like they could tear up some trails And no, I never did get to use the fording kit on the HMMWVs, would have been interesting though

Just picked up an H3T and I love it.

Hummers are one of those vehicles people love to hate. and I am okay with that.

I had no issues with the H1 for off road capabilites. But my problem was with the thinking that H2 and H3 were marketable street machines. Those vehicles were made just for certain status and lifestyles. How many H3s do you see off-road?

a quick Youtube search-- and you may be impressed with what fairly stock H3s can do.

Hummer H3 Offroading
H3T Offroading

Not saying that other vehicles aren't just as capable, I am just saying that seems to do well on the trails.. I can't wait to break mine in.

H3T was actually quite a capable off-roader.

I could never tell the difference between the H1, H2, H3, H3T, or the H24.

For those who don't realize it... the only reason why GM is killing the PROFITABLE Hummer line is because of IMAGE. Despite the fact that the H2 was one of the most successful vehicle sin automotive history profit wise... GM has killed the line due to Environmentalist pressure, nothing else. The H2 is on GMT800 yet still sold. Mostly because GMT800 was still a good as any of the competitor's platforms with exception to Ford's. It was more profitable because the depreciated value of the platform's R&D investment had been exhausted back in 2001-2002. The lines, both the H2 and H3 shared efficiently modified versions of DEPRECIATED platforms that had already yielded untold of fortunes. The H2 sharing the platform of the GMT800 (The 2000-2006 Tahoe, not current GMT900) and the H3 sharing the GMT355... from the Colorado, Canyon, Holden Rodeo, and Isuzu D-Max. Both vehicles were incredible off-road... with the H3 actually exhibiting strong fuel economy despite it's size and lack of aero.

It could have made an awesome entry for GM in the battle against Jeep and such if a smaller, less expensive model had of been introduced. The HX Concept comes to mind...

Both futuristic and intimidating... this vehicle boasted a fuel efficient diesel option that should have been adopted across the entire line. Personally I would still recommend the Hummer name be made into a Trim level in line with the Denali one. Denali being the upper-level near lux version of GMC and the Hummer line being the off-road part of the Division. OR take the opportunity for GMC to actually differentiate itself even further from Chevy. Certainly U would keep the more moderate vehicles as they appeal to the mainstream buyers.. but why not merge the H2, H3, H3T, and that gorgeous Hx (H4) into the line-up of GMC calling them all the Denali trim level. Just replace the HUMMER insignia with GMC.

anyway... gonna miss U Boo... :(

I think it's an "American hating Being American" thing...The same people who make that argument that they weren't ruffians never seem to do the same concerning the Land Rovers or Land Cruisers.. which I have never seen with mud on them in the U.S.
