*grasping at straws*

Is the boost on the GT500 enough to make it a virtual 427?

I don't care, I'd rather 427 be synonymous with the legendary LS7 anyway.
I concur. It's just disappointing to see Shelby intentionally mislead car enthusiasts like this. It could just as easily be a 428, but they want to call it a 427 because performance enthusiasts associate that with the LS7 or simply lots of horsepower. This is why it is abundantly clear to me that Ford has lost its way with car enthusiasts.

Mislead them how? It's just a name for a race. The badge and whatever else offered on the car is just a gimmick to promote the race,it comes with tickets and a autograph, who cares. Ford has nothing to do with this, this is all Shelby. 427 is associated with high HP,but i gurantee nobody thinks of a LS7 when you think 427,for one,the Cobra will always own the image that the 427 number conjurs and second, nobody but GM people know that the LS7 is a 427,You guys will get your panties in a wad over anything.
The 427 Cobra isn't even the good one anyway, the 289 won all the championships.

I see now, I thought you were talking about Shelby sponsoring the NASCAR race. As for the Mustang, I never really much attention to them anymore.

It's hysterical that any time someone says something about a Ford being a bad decision you show up.

Making a "Race Edition" Shelby is a good idea. Making a "427" Shelby without a 427 is a bad idea. It makes them look bad because it says "427" instead of "Race." Does that make more sense? In other words, the 427 is traditionally associated with displacement, power, and V8s. In this context, enthusiasts will see 427 and get excited, and then they'll see that it doesn't really have a 427 under the hood. That will be bad.

I've never associated the 427 to anything but Chevy. I always thought of 'Vettes or 427 Camaro.

I think Ford has more special editions for the GT500 than they have regular GT500s. I have an '07 GT and I used to troll around on some 'stang forums. The GT500 owners really think they have something special, and for a while they did. Now they're just used cars with above average resale value. My 'stang is a beautiful car, but I can't wait to get rid of it.

if i could, i'd get the GT500 in Vapor Silver with Stripe Delete then do my own mods to get it to Super Snake performance. there would be no need for "special editions" and it could be done at a fraction of the cost.

Can you read or do you just cherry pick the info to suit your bias. It's an events related badge package, basically a pace car type package to PROMOTE the race. It's called marketing,i didn't say it wasn't lame, but it is what it is,a EVENTS RELATED package to a race called the SHELBY 427,which comes with a badge and tickets and other benefits for THE RACE,get it? What kind of idiot do you think is going to see this decal gimmick and think it's got a 427 under the hood? EVENTS RELATED package,it's not Roush slapping a 428 sticker on his for no reason,it's a LAME MARKETING EVENT PROMOTION......duh,get a life. A real enthusiast wouldn't just see a 427 sticker and get excited and especially a Shelby enthusiast,we would know what it is,another Shelby moneymaking scheme.
Only somebody like a ignorant Impreza owner would just see a 427 sticker and get excited. Do you think that '93 Indy 500 Camaro has 500HP or 500ci?
