The 2011+ Mustang Thread

Another one of what threads? Where I am, I hardly see any of the new bodystyle Mustangs on the road. I thought it would be interesting to see if it was a geographical thing or if the situation was similar in other parts of the country.

Why even post anything in the thread unless you're going to contribute to the conversation at hand?

I just got a killer deal on a new 2010 GT500. With the money I save I'll be able to put the SVT upgraded suspension on it, pretty much the same as what the 2011 GT500 with the track pack will use and maybe a few other goodies. It a freakin'awesome car. I got it 2 days ago. It looks nice beside our 2010 GT ragtop.

Nice choice. I have the FR3 adjustable track suspension and it is Danm niceeee and tight. Have them put on a BMR panhard bar at the same time to make rear alignment easier. Enjoy.....

The 2011 is nice but everytime I see that it stickers 50 large I just cant believe what they want for them.

Mustangs and Fast Fords ran a new Mustang at the drag strip. First pass was 12.69 and second was 12.72. Looks like stiff competition.

Was that even smith guy driving? there are 4 other 12.7's reported looks like it's not hard to hit 12.7 in the new mustang.

Yeah but no one has run 112mph trap speed. I subscribe to that magazine as I used to own a 08GT and some of the times always seem fishy to me. Like the Roush that ran 11.7 at 122mph and when they supposedly put drag radials on it ran an identical 11.7 From having this hobby for over 15 years I have come to not truely believe anyone. Too many sponsers and hidden agendas. For instance like certain new cars that gain 30rwhp from just a tune. What they dont tell you is that they used race gas and advanced the timing way out there. Whats sad for us is having to sort through all the to get reliable info as to learn. Reality is we have to watch out for fanboys and egos and people just trying to make money and stretching the truth or hiding the facts.

Grats! We picked ours up 1 week ago. Great deal. Has electronics package and is just amazing.

If you haven't done it already and you are 3lb. boost limited, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and reconnect. (negative terminal) This eliminates the 50 consecutive starts/mileage boost limit. Once I did this it is a whole new beast. It is dizzy fast.

Not a magazine, but powerhouse racing hit 112 on the traps.
12.77, 12.78, and 12.85 all at 112mph 60fts all hovered around 2.0 they could have spun a bit and got to 112mph or maybe because it was atco raceway not sure.

So let me just say that the car is pretty stout in stock form, The e.t. above can be trimmed on a bit as I had wicked tire spin into second gear every time, with tires I would have to guess that the car would have 12.40's maybe even a .30.

Our car is just simply a 400a "premium" with no other options, 3.31 gears!

With a little over 1000 miles on the car I can say that this is definitly the best mustang GT ever made. Super Quiet, Super Comfortable, Super Fast.



All this at nearly 26mpg at nearly 85mph for each leg of the 900 plus mile round trip.

I agree it's possible some tricks are left out of magazines sometimes. real life consumer hands it's where it's at.
