Yeah, I'm planning on taking a risk and dropping like $600 on GM and Ford stock and then just sitting on it for however long it takes and praying that they come out of this...

I'd wait till after the bailout, if any. The bailout would almost be like a stock reset. If you have any before, you'll be wiped out. If you buy afterward...well it depends how effective the bailout is and if GM really takes full advantage of it to be sustainable.

OK remember the Fannie/Freddie bailout? Stock went darn near to zero afterwards, and now, well, it's gone up and down, but you're still better off if you had bought it afterwards than before. I'm anticipating the same for a GM bailout.

The Government would never let GM fall. WAY too many jobs at stake. If you want some GM stock, now may be the time to buy it.

This is just what happens in the market; prices fall, long-time investors sell, new investors buy, and the prices go back up again. If you really want to help GM, buy stock if you haven't already.

Shoot. I want to buy their stock. No cash to do so. Said it before and I'm saying it again!

And GM can't close the dealerships. GM does not own the dealerships. Dealerships are privately owned.

Don't buy stock until after the bailout. You will just loose your money.

Remember when the stock hit $10 a few weeks/months back and everyone here was saying it was a fantastic value buy? Yeah be careful with financial advice from internet forums. This is Camaro5.com, not FinancialExperts.com.

well if you bought at 10 and saved money to buy now its even better soooo I dunno what your point is...or if you bought and sold when it was fluctuationg between 6-8 then 4-6 you could make some cash. But this is just a forum. Kinda funny how the financial guys pretty much destroyed all their customers money. brokers are almost as bad as internet guys..
