I doubt Pontiac is ever coming back. The G8 is turning into a Chevy, and everything else Pontiac had was just badge engineering. I'm still sad that Pontiac was killed, but eliminating the redundancy it represented will be important to keeping the new GM profitable.

Funny no one's mentioned the demise of the highest quality recent Pontiac, which sold in good numbers...the Vibe...many of whom will likely now migrate to Toyota...

The sad fact is, like Olds before it, almost 300,000 annual units will NOT be automatically replaced by Chev/Buick/Cadillac models... Were it NOT for Buick's "rising star" in China, it would have been gone (and was actively considered up 'til '08)...all 130-odd thousand domestically sold units ('09 MY)...

I was a Pontiac Owner for the last 10 years. I owned 3 Grand Am's and 2 G6's. My mom got upset with me when I traded in my G6 because I owned a 08 G6 and she drives a 08 G5. Both were black so they were like brother and sister. I couldn't resist the Camaro when my payment only jumped up $4.52 a month and the insurance is $30 dollars cheaper it was a even exchange

Well here's some pics of my old Pontiacs I modded. It was hard becoming a Chevy owner yes, the Camaro is my first Chevy but I don't look back at Pontiac anymore. The Camaro is definately my favorite.

All these good cars...and the GTO. I think Pontiac could be a limited run company making just a few types of cars. Just like Hummer, you don't need a huge line-up. Making the firebird, GTO and Solstice only...

But Hummer's bread and butter was the H2 with an MSRP in excess of $60,000. Each one sold was very profitable for GM and they were unique enough that they probably didn't steal many sales from the Escalade. I wouldn't be surprised if the H2 brought in 10x the profit of a Firebird.

I don't think pontiac should return ,but I do think that chevy needs some more exciting cars
other than the camaro or corvette. Chevy don't make a car that I would buy other than those two or their trucks. The rest of their cars are on the boring side for me.
