Even though it may be a little slower than the 2011 GT I still like the SS. But when it comes time to plunk my money down I am leaning towards the GT. Both are very cool.

I am just glad it is a drivers race when talking about a GT and a SS.

And you are right a 3.31 geared stock 2011 GT with base wheels and tires popping off 12.7s is great.

Did you catch the mph by any chance?

GT wins... GT still has more TORQUE... however a bad driver/bad launch in the GT and the V6 will beat the GT...

The V6 would be every bit as fast as the 05-09 GT's.... and a hair behind the 10'....

Holding off until we start seeing some typical drivers get their 2011 V6 Mustangs on the track!

BTW.. stopped by MRT yesterday on my way home from Ohio... they had a 2011 Mustang up on the hoist and were getting ready to fab up a "MRT Ver. 2.0" axle back!!

The problem with buying a Mustang is.. you'll have a Mustang in your driveway to look at every day and not a Camaro

The new 5.0 finally puts the Mustang in the power realm with the SS, but NOBODY will break their necks trying to catch a glimpse of it in a SEA of mustangs on the road, outside of a dragstrip. And every single day you'll open up that garage door and think to yourself, 'if ONLY it looked as good as it performs'

i understand the 'sea of mustangs" thing, but isnt the camaro after a 'sea of camaros'? if the camaro continues to outsell the stang for the next five years, there will be camaros JUST LIKE YOURS in driveways all up and down your street. 16 year old girls, high scool punks, college kids, everyone. to them its just another car.

That may very well be the case. Someday, the camaro may be just as forgettable as the mustang is today. But in the meantime, I get to enjoy years of jawdropping stares of lust and envy that 2011 stang owners can't even imagine.

We can revisit the issue in 2016 to see if people have quit breaking their necks to see a 5th gen

Nothing new here, everyone thinks that 'their' car is the most unique, best looking, etc..... You may be surprised how many folks own neither car, but really dislike the Mustang, or really dislike the Camaro, it really comes down to personal preference. So once again, drive what you like or what feels best, and stop worrying about 'turning heads', unless you happen to be a Chiropractor....
