Fine... A regular pontiac g8 gt would whip the sho aswell (it handles better). The only reason I mentioned the gxp is because when optioned similarly they are both about 40k (closer to the same price point) the gxp was pretty much maxed out, there were only like 2 options for it.

edit: rember the sho competitors is the charger srt8 and if pontiac was still around the g8 gxp, there all in the same price range.

How do you think they option similary? The G8's dont offer any options worth mentioning.

Yeah-- G8s don't offer many extras really. Electronic Dual Climate control is about as fancy as it gets.

No Nav option (I don't count Onstar turn by turn crap)
No rear camera
No memory seats,
no rear entertainment
No Sync option (bluetooth music etc)

But the GXP does have one huge thing going for it. LS3!

yep.
one of the hardest things to get over is the sound,
of a small block V8. but then-again, in my case
i have a 68 firebird with a 350, to fill my v8 needs and wants

That ecoboost engine is awesome, man that thing can haul-ass
i dont know how the hell is ford, keeping this baby out the mustang.
the SHO performance isn't bad for a 4000+lbs car

0-60= 5.2 Secs
0-60= 112 feet
Grip= 87 g
Quarter mile= 13.7 sec @ 103.0 mph
now imagine this engine, in a 3500lbs car.

Price point keeps the engine out of the Mustang. The Eco-boost engine would drive the base price too close to the GT's price. Ford makes a good chunk of it's Mustang sales off of the V-6 package.

I just mean that the sho and the gxp would have been in the same price range with the charger srt8. performance wise, the gxp pwns. I assuming the sho is ment to be a sport sedan, thus why I miss pontiac. The g8 gt had better performance, similarly fuel economy, plenty of room, while costing about 7k cheaper to boot. Thats all.

I own a G8 GT-- It is a nice car-- great looks, great power.. But it offers limited opitions.. You don't get much more than you get in any new car.

If the G8 GT were still around, It wouldn't be a direct competitor. Different options, different price range, different feel all together.

Ford stepped up the game to compete with higher end cars.

the 7k price difference is because of the difference in quality between the two cars. the SHO offers much more when it comes to interior amenities. i think more impressive yet is the SHO weighs as much as some CUV's and still has a low 5 second 0-60.

another thing to consider is the current ecoboost V6 has been limited in power solely because it has only been applied to FWD and FWD biased AWD cars. the engine itself has the ability to make much much more if it found its way into a mustang or a falcon.

Back in the day in the 90's the SHO was one car you didnt dare take lightly or you would get your azz handed to you with the Yamaha motors. Ford dropped the ball with this version imo not too many people are going to have to be worried about this ride. Its average in todays standard for the sedans you can get today.

In Canada this thing is 50+k. There are plenty of sedans that can beat that car for that kind of money. In its day for the money it asked it was top dog. And no standard tranny lame Paddle shifters please. Back in the day when i owned my Z28 i seen a SHO come to a set of light i was nervous not this version. With my V6 Camaro its a drivers race not very impressive and this thing has a power adder. Sorry dude a good buddy of mine who i work with owned all the previous sho's we have talked and researched this car a lot. He would kick the crap out of many of the V8 pony cars in its day. Just like the your Cobra when that thing first came out nothing came even close to touching it. Even today performance wise that ride is amazing and its 7 years later. All we talk about is cars its both of our passions. Are u defending it cause its a ford im guessing yes. Ford should have put a V8 in that ride with a manual transmission. This car gets a big thumbs in my book.
