I'm sure it went ok. I read it yesterday and it was well written and informative.

Apparently this went down at the Union yesterday.

You can also marvel at the new $118 million Ohio Union...yes, we spent that much money...to build a bunch of meeting rooms, a ballroom, and sub-par food.

Cure for hoarse throat?

Well, I arrived at work this morning and found out that:
  • One coworker fell down a couple stairs last night... ended up ripping all the ligaments from his left ankle. He's out of commission for the rest of the week.
  • Another coworker's mother passed away. :( He's off for the rest of the week.
  • Another coworker fractured his hip playing hockey... and was in surgery. Will be out for six weeks. :(

It's as if the Fates got together and created the Perfect S*** Storm. Needless to say, I started lecturing at 8am, and finished at 6pm, with 10 minutes for lunch. No, this isn't a "poor me" post, I'd rather be me than any of the guys listed above. I lost my voice around 5:30 so I whispered my way through the remainder. Makes me wonder what the heck I'm going to do Wed-Fri ???

With that in mind... my point. Does anyone know a good remedy for easing a hoarse throat? I've got three more days to go with 8-10 hours of lecturing each... and no idea how that's going to happen. I've got my admin staff scrounging for a mic & speaker setup... so hopefully that works out.

And... for the record, regular lecturing hours are 20 hours per week, with 10 hours of prep time and 10 office hours for students that need extra help. Works out to more of a 50 hour week, as usually you spend 1 hour prepping for 1 hour of class time, but I love my job! No worries, there.

Any advice / home remedies / voodoo for this throat of mine would be appreciated.
