How was the commercial deceptive? I really fail to see this, no matter how many internet articles are posted. The loan was paid back. Fact. Period. Simple. So they paid it back with loan money? So what? That shows they are doing well enough that they didn't need the rest of the loan. Why is this a problem?

That's just it...it's NOT loan money they paid it back with. It was THEIR money. You know the stocks the Treasury bought? What did they buy it for, Hershey kisses? No -- It was an exchange for cash.

THEIR cash...until the shares are sold off and they must pay out. But until then, it's General Motor's money, same as if you pawned a belonging for $100. That's how the stock market works.

A loan is a different financial item altogether and the two shouldn't be confused.

It's NOT misleading, definitely NOT deceptive...and this needs to stop.

Who wears spandex in public and is a straight male...When you deny it, I'll come up with other types of valid points and have you defending that the whole time. Supermans to be fair to Settlemire he is a GM vice president and not exactly in a position to say anything that doesn't directly reflect the GM corporate line, or the administration's line for that matter since GM is effectively a nationalized company and will remain so for the indefinite future. Not if he values his job, and who wouldn't if they were in his position.

Some friendly advice, you are wasting your time here. Some, like you, can see the big picture. Others cannot or will not. They are too in love with the product to have any measure of objectivity towards the company that makes it.

For once I agree with the majority here. Lock this thing down. There is nothing to be accomplished here.

Scott did respond to me off the record already within this thread. It is funny to hear Dragoneye's trying to spin this news away from anything but deception which I call propaganda. This type of deception is nothing new in the realm of politics, and it is no surprise those types of commercials and tactics have creeped in to GM's marketing dept. However I am surprised at how much support this type of behavior and tactics have within our Camaro community. If the loan was paid back in full with interest with money GM has earned from sales, then this commercial would be 100% not deceptive and I would support it's use because I do stand for truthfulness. The truth goes a long way with garnering support..
