Well let's not forget the amazing numbers the SS can put up. From JusticePete(Pedders):

I wonder what a Camaro can do in lateral Gs without any chassis braces? I wonder how it would compare to a Corvette? Oh yeah, Pedders did that testing last year -- without ANY chassis braces. What was the limiting factor for the cars on track -- tires. They all would have pulled even higher G loads with race tires. What this tells the Camaro community is that there is no need for any kind of chassis brace on a 5th Gen Camaro unless you are building a dedicated race car. You certainly don't need them to pull 1.384 Gs. You don't need them to equal the performance of a Z06. You don't need them to out handle a base Corvette. A BOX stock completely OE Camaro was good for over 1G in the hands of a skilled driver so you don't need a chassis brace to reach a G on a road course.

He knows a thing or two about handling.

Nice, is that theory or did they pull 1g out of the camaro stock? I don't see a mention of actually doing it.

Yes, Pedders got this out of a stock SS.

Not trying to be antagonistic, just like to see the SS get the respect it deserves as does the Mustang.

Got what? The 1.384 they're talking about? Bull shit. No way in hell that is possible on stock suspension and tires. Not a chance.

I looked up the quote you are citing and I have avery hard time believing this was on a 200 ft skidpad. They got 1.21 out of a bone stock vette. That's way beyond what anyone else has gotten on a 200 ft skidpad. I'd be interested to know how they got these numbers.

You misread. Again:

A BOX stock completely OE Camaro was good for over 1G in the hands of a skilled driver

nice numbers. 1.00g is't really super car territory now of days
almost all sports cars/muscle or pony cars can do 92 to 97g on the skidpad, i always look at a combination of slalom and g's for handling info.

You said, "Pedders got this out of a bone stock camaro" and the only referenced number was the 1.3XX.

Now that you clarify, I'd still be interested to see how they got their numbers. 1.21G in a stock vette is by far the best I have ever seen. That's actually the best I have ever seen from a stock production car on street tires if it's on a 200 ft skidpad. It may not sound huge, but .2G is another 2 m/s^2. That's a lot. Not saying it's not true, just very abnormal.
