maybe i should of said dohc vtec

btw how was it losing to 350z's past few years =p

but im just adding to the banter, ide like to have equal performing cars other then other camaros and srt8's. Never been a mustang fan myself though becuase basically where i grew up everyone had one and the car just lost any luster it could of had.

Thanks for the link will follow, looks like the track prep was a bit off along with some wheelhop, but the trap 110mph tells a story.

and also just to add to the people talking about 60ft it's general knowledge that .1 off your 60 ft takes away .2 off your 1/4

Also, how much does wheel hop affect ET? if they're posting a 2.1 60' doesn't that mean they still made alright time from the launch?

looks like the mustang and camaro are going to be evenly matched. ford guys better hope that gm doesnt do something rediculously crazy like make a factory CAI or something.

Not for a 400hp car 1.9-1.8 would be a greater 60ft time and possible.
let's say they ran a 1.8 60 ft, that would be 13.2 minus .6 (.1 in 60 worth .2 in 1/4) = a 12.6 1/4 mile time.

You do realize most cars today are employing some kind of variable valve timing? Even the Challenger R/T and Viper have it. I would also expect all next gen SBCs to have it too (like the L99 already does as mentioned).

So if the Mustang isnt a muscle car because it uses VTEC and is a DOHC..therefore overhead cams and VTEC do not equal muscle car? Thats funny, because one of the most powerful engines of all time, the 427 SOHC "Cammer" was an overhead cam design, just not dual.

By that same logic the L99 Camaro is knocking on the door of not being a muscle car. Your logic just...isnt there.

looks like we'll have to wait for winter air before we start seeing any "bests", looks like 13.2@110 will be about average.
Still,it places 13th already as it is on the fastest stock list vs M6 LS3's and matches the top trap speeds of the fastest car on the list. Not bad for a first crack in spring weather. Im sure as the weather cools and cars break in we will see better times still.
2.1 60' with a 110 trap speed and 13.2 ET doesnt really add up either, there must have been A LOT of tire spinning between shifts as well. But overall, not bad for day one.
