we had to get a babysitter for the four days we were gone....ugh, expensive but the kids had a blast.....

Mine are 16 and 14. No more grandparents on both sides. We already had our 2 week vacation for the winter.I couldn't ask my sister in law, she works, and it wouldn't be fair to ask her to care my kids for over a week, AND deal with their school!

The problem with summer though, as my dad pointed out. Most people already have their vacation time at work set aside for family vacations or personal get-aways....

I hear ya....they could have gone to Grandma's but gammy still works, so we didn't think that was gonna be fair....I think the Kids like the sitter better than sitting at Grandma's anyway...so it worked out!!!!
