Some of the things that insult people can get ridiculous. Take the mentally handicapped for example.

It used to be 'retard'. Then people didn't like that anymore.
Then its 'mentally challenged'. Then people didn't like that anymore.
Then its 'mentally handicapped'. Then people didn't like that anymore.
And I think it is now 'developmental disability'(not really sure there). But you know what, if I really wanted to I could use ANY of those terms to make fun of someone.

It might be a regional thing as well. I'm not japanese, but I can see how it would be offensive since it was such a pejorative term in the WW2 days. Then again, terms like "rascal" were grossly offensive in the early 20th.

no idea what that means anyways, just hear parents calling their kid a rascal when they are talking to other parents and laughing doesnt sound like anything to care about

It doesn't particularly matter if we think its offensive, its whether people of Japanese ancestry do.

Supposedly (keyword SUPPOSEDLY) the new GM logo:

Not sure how true this is as other GM sites still have the Mark of Excellence.

I thought GM and Cadillac were trying to distance themselves a little bit because of GM's perception problems.
