I don't know if anyone has heard of this game, but it seems like alot of the cars in this game are new, but not brand new. For example, here is the list of released cars for the game-

Why have an 06' Porsche GT2 in the game instead of a new 08' model? I'm just wondering

Well, in all fairness, the Camaro is in Prostreet. As far as the 06 GT2, I can't answer that question.

I'll venture to guess that licensing may be an issue. Some companies don't like being promoted in games or that they are promoted in illegal street racing. I'd want to see the SSC Ultimate Aero TT in the game. Any product placement publicity is good publicity for a car, even if it is in a game that involves dodging the police and racing on public streets.
