Question Your "affordable" dream car

ever since I got my drivers license at 17 (i did not get the road test untill then because with both parents working i never got enough practice with my permit) i always wanted a car from the year i was born, 1975. the only problem is 75 is such a craptacular year for cars as most if not ALL cars (with the exception of cars overseas that were not sold here) were all smogged out with emissions and because of that they were under powered (200 horsepower from a 454 anyone ). but there were a few 'diamonds in the rough' so to speak and there are some i would NOT mind owning even with the underpowred motors.

75 Corvette convertible:

last year of the ragtop on a Corvette untill the 86 model year i had the chance to get one of thse cars for less than 12k but the auction ended before I could get a hold of my dad's friend who was a dealer and was the only one of us who could bid on it

75 Caprice convertible:

like the Corvette it was the last year of the ragtop for this car and its GM sister cars (pontiac grand ville, buick skylark, olds 88, etc) but unlike the vette they would never make a full size rear drive 2 door ragtop from GM which is a shame . I had the chance to get the Pontiac version of this car a few years ago but the car needed a LOT of work (it was missing parts of the motor for one thing!).

75 Pontiac Firebird coupe:

i always liked the 2nd generation F cars, the firebird mostly but I would take a camaro preferably with the t top option. I saw one of these cars with a LS1 motor taken from a late 4th generation F car but he wanted over 10 grand for the car .

what are YOUR "affordable" dream car?

1972 SCCA Trans Am (factory red). However, being 1 of 1 might move it out of the affordable category and move it into the "if it ever comes up for sale category".

I've seen a Dodge Viper RT/10 for $30,000 once but...

I'd rather take one of these

I'm sure I'll catch some crap for this, but really I don't care

My affordable dream car (aside from the camaro) is the Nissan GT-R
