2 very different cars, even if they are both "pony" cars. challenger is bigger in all aspects, interior room, trunk space, outside dimensions, WEIGHT, and it's based on a autobahn suspension, from a early 2000 E class mercedes suspension and transmission, and shares many things from the 300's, chargers and magnums. the camaro is smaller, lighter, "spritelier" is that a word? faster turn ins, etc.
I drive both daily and know they have very different qualities to them.

I've never been inside a Challenger, but any time I see the exterior of one I hear a narrator in my head saying "looks like them Duke boys are in a heap o' trouble this time."

As for the comfortable seats, I think it's because Dodge is targeting older guys with the Challengers. Most guys I see driving them are in their 50s, and once on another forum the Challenger guys posted their ages and most were past middle age. My dad is in his early 60s, and the first time he saw one he said it was just a beautiful car.

Just an fyi, the CHallenger interior basically shares only the steering wheel and switchgear with the CHarger, the actual design is actually remiscent of the origional 1970 model. |

My Camaro leather interior is one of the most comfortable interiors I have ever sat in.

I agree that I don't like the gauge cluster and steering wheel on the Dodge, but the fit and finish actually seemed pretty good and sturdy.

LX Platform- Charger, 300, Magnum. LC Platform-Challenger. Similar design, but not the same. Throwing the "just a reskinned" blah blah isnt correct. It's about as wrong as me saying that the Camaro is just a differently configured and built Holden Monaro. |

Hello!
|
I'll agree with those defending the Challenger...before we owned one I would have been quick to say the same as a few here have.
It's not anything like I thought they were...very nice to say the least! Only a few things I would change about the Challenger...there are a few things I would change about the Camaro too. Both very nice cars, different but the same if that makes sense. |

I liked it but --
I liked the Challenger but not enough to buy one,
I guess the low sales indicate many feel the same. The owner of the Dodge liked my 2SS too. But most important, we are both very happy with what we have
