Drove a Challenger SRT
Was at a local show with my SS/RS and in pulls a 2009 SRT
hemi orange 6 man we spoke about our rides and he asked if he could sit in mine he liked it, as a matter of fact he told me he ordered a Camaro but the dealer gave him some bs but actualy sold it for a 5K markup to some one else. I must say it is more comfortable [seats], easier to get in and out ,love the pistol grip shifter Performance undecided, but you could feel the heavyness of the car he told me mine felt like it had more balls. final opinion, I liked it but we are both happy with our choices by the way his cost 10 K more |

I am surprised the seats are more comfy in the Challenger. I love the inside of my car.

The SRT should be about $10K more, the RT is about the same as an SS. I really like both the exterior looks and interior of the new Challanger. I'm just a Chevy guy at heart

The Challenger is a lot bigger, so they decided to put in some lazy boys from the factory.
Okay, well not really, but they are very comfortable and big. But i feel like i slide around in them a lot more. I also dont really like the rest of the interior, the gauges are hideous parts bin parts, as well as the steering wheel. Where as the camaros wheel and gauges are designed with the camaro in mind. Glad to see you are both happy with your cars(:

Well if you look at numbers the SRT can barily keep up with the SS and Mustang so at $10k more it becomes pricey.

JerseyMonte,
I used to own a Cuda' 440-6 Pack with a pistol grip 4-speed shifter. I also am a fan of the pistol grip shift handle. Contact Barton Industries. They offer a BEAUTIFUL pistol grip shifter that is available as a conversion kit for your stock lever (about $75.00, and easy to install) or as a complete short throw shifter conversion kit. I installed one on my SS (so anyone could do it) and love it. Now you can have your pistol grip, and save $10,000......Art |

I drove the SRT-8. It is comfortable but the performance does not compare to the camaro. Just my opinion

I think most people like the Challengers looks. Let's face it. It's a direct copy style wise of the original. They liked it then, they'll like it now. One of my friends is a big dodge fan and I keep busting him. Telling him he should have kept his old truck (2007 Ram) and bought a new Challenger instead of his new truck ( a fully loaded, quad cab, 4x4, ram box monstrosity that cost him $48k when he tows a small lawn trailer I could tow with a 4cyl s-10). I wouldn't trade my camaro for it, but if someone gave me one for free I'd make room for it in the driveway.

my biggest complaint with the challenger is the interior is crappy. Looks like it came from a PT cruiser. Atleast the camaro interior has great fit and finish. The challenger is bland and feels like it will fall apart in a year.

I test drove the challenger before buying my SS, well, before they were even building the Camaro yet. it felt really nice just cruising but the moment you start hitting the curves, wow what a difference between the two cars. I like the Camaro's ride just as well and the handling was not even comparable. and yes I drove the SRT.
