No. Yet another form of governmental control. For fear of making a political remark, this is all I'm going to say on the matter

Driver education needs to be emphasized much more than identifying inexperienced young drivers. One idea that I've had is to include a 'driving simulator' video game as part of drivers ed and/or driver testing. It wouldn't include much of the mundane stuff, it would be more for emergency situations and poor weather.

Also could be used to simulate situations you would not want the person encountering for the first time in real life. |

Could even use it to show the effects of distracted driving

We should offer New Jersey to China to put towards our debt.

China would definitely refuse! Also, I'm sure one of the opponents of the law will say it's unconstitutional. If I remember correctly, weren't the elderly just as bad of drivers as the young, unexperienced ones?

I'd rather have a new driver than one who is legally blind.

I completely agree with this. Either way though, law or no law, I will be making sure my kids (whenever i get around to having them) have PLENTY of driving experience before they're even old enough to get their permit! Four-wheelers, lawn-mowers, backing the car out of the garage, go-karts, these things can all help to teach kids the basics of driving. Then you just start showing them the rules of driving on an actual road when they start getting older. Worked on me!

To anyone who agrees with higher driving age: Driving comes from experience not age and 16 year olds are just like 18. I am learning a little now so when I drive I will be a better driver and safer. So in reality they lower the permit age to 15 and give you a year before your license

While I don't agree with giving young driver's a tag to show that they are just that, young, I do agree with NEW drivers having a tag identifying then as a new driver. Yes it does make them stick out more and that what it is for. As the driver of another car near by, you get a bit more cautious around them since you know they may be just learning.
