If its just a car why do you feel the need to join message boards about it. Do you join message boards about lawn mowers? Blenders? Toilets?

Cars are one of my passions, along with home theaters and a few other things. I post because I enjoy debate over vehicles. Nobody forced you here to sign up. It wasnt mandatory when you bought your car.

As for enjoying my car as it came? Not gonna happen. Why do you care about how I enjoy my car anyways. I mean you dont care about how I use my blender or toilet or blu-ray player. Why do you care about my car. You might be one of the guys who cares about it his purse matches his car. Its not me. I care about performance. I also care about the competition because its fun to have competition.

When you watch (if you do) sports do you not get upset when your team makes a stupid trade or get excited when they get a big name. Do you get pissed when they lose to a rival team?

Maybe you dont care about any of those, but I do. Thats why this site is here. You can rag on me all you want about me wanting the Camaro to be faster. Of course I do, I busted my ass off and sold my last Camaro to be able to afford this one. Maybe you richie rich's out there swiming in money dont give a shit about cars because you can buy 5 of them. But mine is special. Its my first and only new car I will ever buy. Plus I do all my own work as I did my last Camaro and Camaro before that. So yeah I put a little pride into it. Is that wrong

Enjoying your car and healthy competition is one thing, but always putting your car in the shadow of another car and wanting to one up to that car it just feels wrong.
That actually shows a great deal of care for that other car.

That's not appreciating what you have. My car isn't a brand new 2010 camaro SS that doesn't bother me. I don't long for horsepower or obsessed with beating another car becaue I love my car the way it is.

**** As for the regular gas thing. I highly doubt they used regular in the SS. They wold have to be stupid. The traps were also fine in the camaro in this test....they just werent hooking quite as well this time.
Actually we may see the Gen V V8 in the 2011 MY corvette since they are running it in Lemans GT2 (Rules state they have to use a production engine). So assuming the pattern continues of the camaro getting the vette V8 a year later. 2012 model year camaro would be a great response to the mustang. From what I have been hearing of the Gen V, it is awesome. All new block (not a revison) with the camshaft moved higher in the block for less valve train weight, shorter and stiffer pushrods, D.I., greater Hp density per liter, better fuel economy, less emissons etc. Ford has done a great job catching up to GM power wise, just in time to get pushed back down again with Gen V right around the corner.

If that is the case people are going to be miserable or buying a new car every year. I love my car, its fun to see what else is going on but Im not going to like my car any less when the Z come out. If I decide I want more speed I can add mods.

How does it show care for the other car? When I want the Cubs to beat the white sox it means I care about the white sox? LOL

Its not a penis thing or an envy issue ect ect. I just enjoy it. I can accept when things are better faster, but when its only a gear swap away or a swaybar swap away...thats like nothing to me.

For the record my past 3 vehicles have been fords. I dont hate ford. I hate toyota and honda, but not ford. But I do enjoy ragging on mustangs. Ive loved the fact that they needed to be supercharged to be competitive to bolt-on ls1s. Now they up the ante and everyone is bagging on the 2010 camaro when its a whopping 2-3 tenths faster when its 200lbs lighter with a steeper gear.

Obviously according to your standards ford cares very much about the camaro to get the mustangs performance up to where it barely edges it out. All Im saying is it wont take much for the 2011 camaro to top it, and a couple bolt-ons and or a gear swap is all it will take for a 2010 camaro to top out a 2011 mustang. I look forward to lining up with them.

It says the same thing for Mustang GT, which has a recommended octane rating of 91. If it's true and hurting the Camaro, then it's hurting the Mustang too.



I seriously doubt that gas mileage will stay the same, especially since they show the Mustang averaging 2mpg less then either the Camaro and the Challanger.

Does the Mustang have two octane maps in it's programming? One where it'll detune the car to run the lower octane? If not, then the lower octane in the Mustang won't hurt it as much as the Camaro, which does have two octane maps in it's programming.

Isn't the GT500 basiclly Ford's tuner Mustang? It's a limited production SVO built car, correct? If so, then comparing it to the ZL575 would be the right comparision. SLP is equilivant to SVO, so it would be apples to apples. At least IMHO.

To get the performance, if not better than the glass roofed car MT tested, it cost about $700 more than a similarly optioned camaro.

And apparently that extra $700 dollars will actually get you superior performance.
