I'll tell you, I feel the same way about the Eagle. I'll never forget the first time I ever even became aware that it existed! It was love at first sight for me...to this day I still love it! I would have loved to have gotten to fly that jet...and they wouldn't even have had to pay me! However, since there is almost no chance for an American fighter pilot to become an Ace, it kind of takes away from the whole idea of being a fighter pilot.

As a result, I believe the A-10 Thunderbolt II would have been much more fulfilling! What could be more rewarding than to get the call that some of our guys on the ground are in a desperate way needing help now, then come rolling in with that big 30mm roaring in order to save the day, giving them hope and insuring that they make it back home in one piece!!!

I totally agree, that cannon is amazing on that thing. So powerful it slows the plane down when it fires. WOW!!!
