Slash

You guys realy need to check out Slash's new solo album. It's refreshing to hear new stuff from one of the pioneers of modern guitar. It's a really dynamic album, goes from really chill ballads, to uptempo hard rock. I wish modern "musicians" would go back and listen to these classic guitarists, they could learn a lot from the old guys.

Music like this convinces me I was born 20 years too late.

Meh. I dig G-N-R but I think slash is severely overrated. Pioneer of modern guitar? Because he plays the blues scale over hard rock songs? To each their own, I guess...

You guys implying I'm a spammer or something? Sorry just thought this might be something you'd like. And yeah Slash isn't a satriani or a vai or malmsteen and his stuffs not complicated but I still love his music. And his solo stuff is a lot more versatile than anything he played with GNR or Velvet.
I review classic rock and metal for my college radio so I get stuff early. I won't post anything else and stick to the on-topic forums from now on.

I just listened to the previews on amazon.com, twice.

The first time thru it sounded a bit generic, but the second time thru your words kicked in. I like and respect most of the vocalists he's working with, and Slash himself earned my respect long ago.

I don't know what you are talking about 20 yrs too late. Not sure of your age... but I just watched "It Might Get Loud" with Jimmy Page and he seemed to be alive n' kickin'! Some say, "he sold his soul for Rock n' Roll." Not to mention Jack White was in it, and is an amazing musician as well. Sorry, back on topic...

I'm 20 years old. What I mean is that the music I love is from the 60s 70s and 80s. I wish I had been alive during the peak of that era so I could have attended the shows with the classic lineups.
