The argument "Camaro has IRS and therefore is automatically better"..will NOT FLY with anyone who is fair minded and has half a brain. |

I see one corner where the camaro pulled more G's. Another where they were almost identical as well.
They also said in the fast corners the camaro did better. The brakes also performed better. This is also not the only article I have read where the camaro had a better lap time. Another I read had the camaro ahead by almost 2 seconds. Ford has had 6 years to dial in this chassis. I am sure the handling on the camaro can and will improve from the factory in the future. Like I said before, changing the springs and sways shows a big improvement on these cars. GM needs to find a better balance between daily drive-ability and performance and or add a track pack option like the mustang if they want to do better. |

Agreed, but (in this case) the IRS argument does not make the Camaro Superman nor the mustang a 01 Ranger as some of the fanbois here would lead everyone to beleive.
The Mustang handles just fine thank you, and (i would submit)..with a stronger, and lighter drive train thrown in the mix as a cherry on top. |

Neither of us even said that in the first place. It was a previous poster who said that the camaro was better because of the IRS and gave no other reasoning.

Isnt the 4.6 motor physically bigger/heavier than the LS3? What do you mean stronger? I doubt the 5 speed in the mustang is stronger than the 6 speed in the camaro? Or do you just mean SRA compared to the IRS? |

There is a lot of BS flying on here. Mod motors basicly suck, (ask 90% of the ford guys they will agree) ,fox body mustang's are just glorified fairmounts, SN-95 cars are almost as ugly and junky as the wonderful mid 70's Mustang II's , The only good running cobras have to have a power adder. Yea mustangs are great
. I can't wait to see one of these great handleing super fast 5.0 GT's for myself and I really hope I am driveing my camaro, I will slow down a little and wave when I pass it .

so lets compare 2010 Camaro to 2010 Mustang GT, and when 2011 Camaro debuts do this test again As for deeper pockets on the Modding ability of the car the Rugstain will need the deep pockets. A cam swap in your LS series motor would cost ya what $1800 - 2.5k installed and tuned!! Now go price a couple more bump sticks for the other turd and make sure they r ground to VVT acceptance. I think most of us know that a blower for a camaro or mustang will run ya about the same $$$ (6K-9K). The 2011 GT might aswell have a set of LT's on it already so you might save a little there. And your already at 11.0 SCR on your GT as i stated earlier.
