The ford numbers are impressive. I am not terribly thrilled that motortrend got a 0-60 in 5.1 from the V6, vs the camaro's 5.9 or 6.0 (varied depending on the test). I still love my car and wouldn't ever want to get a mustang instead.
I know Ford needed to boost the power to crank out more sales, but if they really wanted to give the camaro a knock out punch they would have redesigned the styling too. The current mustang is starting to get a little bland, at least for my taste.

Appears those were both auto's. I would be interested to see the manual vs. manual race.
![]() BTW - person driving the Camaro was a fail at leaving the line. |

At least the factory HP fight is back. I wonder how long it will be before the Gov. steps in like back in the '70's and we lose that muscle again.

Hehe In truth I like the Mustang. Is there some things I don't like about it? Yeah, but I could say the same for almost every car out there. CTS-V probably being the only exception. But one thing I'm not going to do is orgasm over something I haven't even driven yet. The only time I even bother to pick up one of these mags is when I'm killing time at the dentist's or doctor's office. I'm the kind of person that likes to make up my own mind.

On the second race it's about as equal of a start as you can get and the GT pulled pretty well still. The first race the camaro driver slept on the line. I know that 12.8 @ 110.8 time from the new GT was from a fully loaded model with the $1300 stereo/sub, nav, heated and power seats, 14" Brembos 4 piston calipers ect. AKA alot of extra weight that you can get a GT without. I'd like to see some no option GT with the track pack times. Faster cars are good for everyone, it's great that the horsepower wars are really heating up, it makes this hobby even more fun. |

Haha I like how he says "mustang leaves the camaro in the dust"... when it comes to looks the camaro leaves the mustang in the dust. I just feel like if the two cars were next to eachother more people would be looking at the camaro over the mustang. Good numbers for the mustang, but even if it was a twice as fast as the camaro, I would still take the camaro.

Regarding the options, the larger wheels can't be had without the Brembo package so that will not bode well for the Mustang. (Edit - 245 with 19x8.5 is standard, 255 with 19x9 is the upgrade) I would also like to see the option list on the Mustang. My guess is it had the 3.73. I am almost certain the 2011 Camaro SS will have a 3.73 option. Apples-to-apples will be a much more even race. About equal to be exact. ![]() Current Camaro owners have nothing to be worried about. There are a ton of mods on the market and the 6.2 responds very well. It is very detuned from the factory. You add a few mods and the GT will be seeing tail lights. Much greater headroom where the new 5.0 will be at a disadvantage mod for mod. This is the reason I went with the Camaro.
