No. Its the test to get nationally certified after you finish the class. I finish my EMT-B class on thursday and test Friday, and then start the EMT-I class next tuesday (ends 6/25). After that I'm going to get into an EMT-P course through OCCC.

P.S. - EMT is EMT regardless of where you work, just I plan on working either on an ambulance or as an ER tech.
