Obviously a 103 trap speed is not a good example of an L99 car. 107 is a typical trap for a proper running L99. (right behind the mustang auto with 12 less hp and more weight)
I'm talking about what CHEVROLET said the times would be, when the cars first came out they were advertising 13.0 for the LS3 and 13.1 for the L99

Surely when the Mustang does become available, some people will run better times with them stock just like some people did with the Camaro stock.

BTW trap speed don't give you a win slip at the 1/4 mile.

Am I seeing this correctly..you think the Mustang auto is going to weigh more than the L99?

Its going to weigh 200 pounds less...unless I am misreading you.

^ No, he is saying the L99 has 12 less HP and more weight than the 2011 GT.

No, Chevy advertised 12.9 for the LS3 and 13.2 for the L99.

Well, they were wrong, weren't they?!!

Just playing.

Actually, those are pretty average times, maybe even on the good side but it still amazes me that some drivers, get their Camaros to run as low ET's as they do.

I mean L99's running 12.8-12.9 stock. Sometimes the GT500 will run 12.9.

I'm guessing the 2011 Mustang GT will have the ability to run 12.2-12.4 stock on a great run.

a 12.2-12.4 for the mustang gt will be as common as the 12.5-12.7 runs of the camaro

Nice prediction. I would say that is somewhat close. I doubt we will see a 12.2 out of a stock GT though.

At any rate with numbers that close it is a real "drivers race"

I have to say I will be extremely disappointed if the '10 SS LS3 and the '11 GT are neck and neck from the get-go. That would mean minor updates to the 2011 SS could easily surpass the '11 GT.

I'm not on any particular side, but I've been here the entire time watching every Mustang guy say that we have to wait for 2011 and how that will be the year of the Mustang being the performance king. If it's eclipsed so quickly, or just barely squeaking out a win (.1), that'd be pretty crappy for them.

Cmon now dont play stupid. If you really want to tell yourself that a camaro running a 103 trap speed is a good example then go ahead. But you are just lying to yourself.

And your right, trap wont give you a win...the projected 1/4 for both cars was ridiculous...so thats why I chose to use trap speed...it is less dependent upon traction...which was a problem from reading the article.

You must remember...the mustang edging out the camaro = "performance king"

Camaro beating mustang by over half a second= "drivers race"

That's not a fair statement just yet; the ones who kept calling it a drivers race have all but disappeared due to being banned. I am honestly curious what they will say once the numbers are released, one way or the other.

I know. Some cool mustang guys on here as well. I just like to have something to fight back with

The new mustang GT is going to run great. I think its awesome. And I am a little bit jealous.

I am just bothered by the select few who dont show respect back.
