Any airforce guys in here?

Here lately ive been considering the military soon after i get out of college(20 right now with 2 years left, so 22 when i enlist). Im curious to see what others think of the airforce, and the potential careers theyve created? I personally want a change, im tired of the daily routines and evening jobs. I want to get out and see the world before i get old, and so does my girlfriend(potentially soon to be wife). What do you guys think? I know its pretty broad to ask this...but im honestly considering a career out of it...only issue would be to find what i would be good at in the airforce.

opinions welcome.

Well, I'm not in the USAF. But, my son is. Air Traffic Control. He's in his 2nd re-enlistment. And he absolutely loves it. He's planning on retireing from the Air Force. His wife is also in the USAF. As they serve there country, they have built a great life together. And given my wife and myself 2 beautiful grandchildren. We are very proud of all of them.

I think its a great move for young people to serve there country.
Obtain structure, direction and training that will lead then on the road to a very bright future.

To all serving and retired service men and women around the world.
I thank you.

Great choice but I am a little bias! LOL!

Little over 24 years for me right now...wouldn't think of changing a day of my life over that time frame either!

Shoot me a PM or post up here...more than happy to talk!

I was in the Air Force for 12 years. It was a great job, and I would not change anything. It helped me get the job I have now.

You may not like being an officer, but going through the ranks & doing the job & then being officer.

My husband says if you want to travel become a pilot they travel alot lol

Hes currently AFR & is An Aircraft Mech.

I was in from 88-92 in Law Enforcement. Been doing it ever since.

Take advantage of the GI bill and go to school as much as you can as they paid (at the time) 75% tuition and all materials. When you get out, you will almost have a bachelors.

AF is just like normal day to day life. Great housing, great food, and was an 8 hour a day job. What you did with your free time was your free time. IMO the best branch of the military for quality of life. I am still in touch with people from 10 years ago too!

If you have very good test scores and want to complete college, the AF is the way to go!

Best 4 years of my life!

I agree with Banshee, I would not change the Branch of Service for anything. I am very happy that I was able to join the Air Force.

The Air Force has the BEST of everything.

You're coming up for Oshawa correct? Be glad to pick you up or house you. Being you were in the AF that is... 10 minutes from Metro Detroit apt and 10 minutes from Windsor crossing.

I'm probably going to finish out my current college education, then enlist in the officer training program. I figure it's a good way to make a decent living, I want to travel, and I don't nmind positions of leadership as I aleady assume those roles in my current job
