J.D. Power's "90-Day Initial Quality" 2009 Survey Results

J.D. Power's 90-Day Initial Quality Survey is sent to every Retail-New Vehicle purchaser approximately 90 days from initial delivery, and quantifies initial "problems" on a "problems per 100 vehicles" basis. Some interesting results:

Overall Improvement, Industry-wide = 8%, compared to '08

"Domestic 3" Improvement = 10%, over '08

I wonder if the Dealer put a different address on your Delivery Report Card? Some are done with "other" addresses so the CSI Surveys go "elsewhere"... It ensures "top" marks...

You'd be surprized to see how often THAT happens...especially if there were ANY 'glitches" during the "sales experience" that might cause a Dealer to "worry"...

This happens, from time to time, with ALL Manufacturers and their "representitives", by the way...

CSI is a "golden goose" these days. Franchises (and Manufacturers' futures) are sometimes dependant on "good" scores. You NEVER hear 'em brag about BAD ones...

I actually have a pretty damn good relationship with my dealer. Every car I've bought in the last eleven years I've bought off the same guy.
