The next 2 months are going to be worse than I planned.

Hey guys,
Just thought i should spill my story to you guys.

First off, last saturday, me and a couple of buddies took a 20 hour drive to snowmass/aspen colorado for a church ski trip. This was my very first time skiing, so naturally, i didnt know how.

I decided to be arrogant and ski down to the chair lift rather than taking the gondola down. I was going to take ski lessons down there.

Now with my limited knowledge, i fell down almost instantly. It took about 5 minutes for me to get myself back up. So when i was ready, i started skiing again. I started to gain a lot of speed and tried to sloalem to slow down. I ended up going to the left, and falling to the right. My left leg(thank God) bends back to the left and kicks me in the back.

My leg was virtually bent past as far as it can possibly go. I ended up getting put on the back of a snowmobile and taken to medical. I was eventually transfered to the hospital in aspen. I got an x ray and an MRI.

Here's the bad part...
The doctors told me my femur and my ACL were pulled up, which caused the acl to disconnect from my upper tibia. When this happened, a part of my tibia chipped off and was lodged into my knee cap.

I cannot bend my leg either direction of 15 degrees.

They told me i could have surgery tomorrow at the aspen hospital, or i could wait til friday, the day im back in arkansas, and have surgery there. My mom, being stubborn, and still in arkansas, 1000 miles away, is telling me to wait, so im obeying.

On the plus side of this whole situation, my dad called me today and told me he just sold my jeep, and we are going to order my camaro as soon as im mobile again after surgery.

The leg is expected to heal in about a month and a half, so ill have somethi g to look forward to when it comes off.

Sorry to hear that.

I don't mean to be rude, but has your dad thought it through? It's good that he sold your car, if you wanted it to be sold but why wait until your mobile? I mean wouldn't it just be easier to go to the dealer now and pick it up once your mobile again? That way you won't have to wait through the summer or whatever.

Well, my work starts back in a month, so we are just using the 2 months as a leeway before the monthly payments kick in

Sorry you got hurt and hope your healing goes well

But, if you had tried Snowboarding instead, you would still be fine!!

Or you can just go swimming at the beach... only thing you have to worry about there is seeing hot chicks in tiny bikinis and trying to keep your 'stuff' in place

At least you aren't stuck inside during the summer months. That stinks. Winter surgeries all the way here!
