That's how my thirdgen was, but it turned out to be the best exhaust I've ever had. I like it more than the Hooker setup I have on my fourth gen now.

Not a lot of drone, to no drone, that I can tell. I don't like rattle your teeth loud like long tubes with no muffler etc.

The stock exhaust sounded like a sewing machine to me though.

If you're going in for painted stripes, you should black out the grill area and do the big block tail panel too.

Ya. It should get louder. i like the 4inch tips on it.

And JDP Motorsports, magnaflowplus.com, is just a fantastic place. Can't say enough about them.

Ive got black overlays from rider for the tail panel and gills, white overlays for the bowties.

And 2 additional gm factory ss logos for the front fenders.

We'll see how much the paint work will cost me.

I'm curious how much the stripes are painted-
Dealer wanted about 500 to put vinyl on so I am leaning on painting them, I think it looks cooler too when they go down past the vent on the hood

4 inch tips on my exhaust.

my original dealer wanted between $800 and $900 depending on the width. That;s why i am painting, I hate matte black and $500 for a sticker seems stiff too me.

Sounds like you're a man with a plan!

I still think you should bring it up at the paint shop. I cant imagine the tail and grill panel costing that much. They're much easier to mask off than stripes. Maybe you'll get a package deal!

Sounds really cool. I'm going to have to give that a try sometime.
