I would never, ever consider buying a mustang but I can admit that its good for competition. The new 5.0 coming out should help things along and its always interesting to see GM and ford try to one up each other. The Camaro wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the mustang. Just remember, Ford does it first, but GM does it better!

not sure why they would be that much apart to import.
Now I am just talking about the new 5.0 and SS

If you get similar equipped models there will be barely a gap if any unless you get a stripped 5.0 vs a loaded 2/RS/SS now if Im wrong and you can get a 2011 5.0 loaded for 5-6K less then youd be an idiot not to........but Im not

+1

Add the new Challenger to the list. I would collect all three if I had the cash.

I like the Mustangs, matter of fact I considered buying one for the last few years. That was until the Camaro was announced.

The Mustang Vs Camaro for me changed not because of the Camaro but because how GM has treated me over the years. I wont bash the GM cars and trucks that I have purchased used. But I have had a huge amount of problems with all the new ones I have purchased (5total). Just to highlight the most recent two. I had a Crew Cab 4x4 3/4 ton Duramax, it was fine for the first 16,000 miles and then I could not keep it out of the shop. The truck would just die crossing intersections, die on the highway and so on. Over a period of 6mo. the truck spent 60 days in the shop and still was not fixed. GM would not buy it back and they would not offer me a better deal on another new GM truck just to get me out of that pile. On to my current 2008 Suburban, Oil pan gasket, rear main seal, bad lifter tick, now new lifters and oil pump. And the seats attact so much lint I have to use packaging tape to clean them. GM says just buy a lint brush for your 50k SUV. That's how they treat customers that have spent A LOT of money with them.

I had placed an order for a Camaro and then our Suburban started falling apart. I hope you all have good luck with your Camaro's. But for me I just had to try another brand. Ford is getting my next purchase.

I love my Camaro...but very few Muscle cars can compare to the Terminators in terms of what you got and how easy they are for the enthusiast to milk more power from.
But that is all in the past so to speak...the GT500 isn't as easily modded,or as reliable when modded. Nor is it nearly as affordable as the Terminators were.
I love 'em but I'm over 'em...time for a change.

Yeah I'd have to agree, I had a couple of friends with insane 03 Cobra's. I personally like both was actually more of a mustang fan until I got to play with some LT1 camaro's/trans am's. If I could I'd own both.

@ HighOctane, I still perfer the 03/04 Cobras over the '10 stangs

I've worked on everything from Pratt and Whitney to Briggs and Stratton, and I enjoy seeing the +'s and -'s of everything. I started out as a Mustang boy and will end up a Mustang geezer, but I do like what Chevy has laid down with the old and new Camaros. At least we still have muscle cars to choose from.
