2010 Pontiac Firebird or GTO?
I'm actually partial to the GTO, but I really like the Trans Am / Firebird brand too. If you had to pick one, which car do you think GM should build?

GTO, simply because I think after it's disasterous re-design (note: I'm not talking about power), it deserves another chance.
-AND- the Camaro's already built (almost),so let the Firebird stay Dead. It was a nice Car, but a rip off on the Camaro; in good way ![]() -AND- Realistically, if GM is Really trying to achieve brand differenciation, then the Firebird cannot come back anytime soon. (or at least, it can't come back as the Camaro's twin brother...) |

I vote GTO even though i own a Firebird.
I agree with goldeneye...if your gonna bring back a Firebird make it completely different than the Camaro,which the GTO is and will be. |

GTO
I always thought the lines of the Camaro vs the Firebird were cleaner and more muscular. IMO the Firebird had too many body moldings and knick-knacks bolted on. JWz28. |

I have to go with GTO simply because it makes more sense in today's car market. You would have a G5, G6, G8, and a GTO. Make it a little more true to the older GTO in looks, but don't go too retro. Just make it more identifiable to the classic GTO enthusiasts. The last one was nice, but when people identify it as an oversized Cavalier, there's a styling problem. On the other side of the coin. Firebird has always been similar to yet different from the Camaro since 1967. Changing it too much would take away from what the Firebird truly is, a GM pony car with a just a little bit more muscle and luxury. Unfortunately in today's car market I think the Firebird would be a big failure unless they offered it as a higher end(meaning higher cost) muscle car over the Camaro, with all the luxury features, and a much more powerful motor. Then this would be stepping on Caddilac teritory. Firebird just isn't feasable anymore. A GTO would work out nicely if done right. Being a Trans Am owner, this saddens me a bit, but being a Pontiac enthusiast, I will be happy either way.

I think the firebird/trans am will come back alive.. and become a production vehicle once the camaro comes out, we all will have to wait and see.
