Taxes: how much did you have to pay?

Please dont post if you received money back from the government this tax season. I only want to hear from the people, like myself, who had to pay in for their 2009 taxes. Just wanted to get an idea for some odd reason. I feel good that I am only having to pay 13% overall, but the overall number is ........

$17,000

Lol, may be nothing to you, but to me that is a ton of cash.

If I got a $9/hr job I wouldn't own a new Camaro, now would I?

You never know. I make 9/hr and have been saving up for almost two years to be able to get a camaro. I'm almost to the point where I feel comfortable putting in an order.

11-15% is normal.

I just look at last years return, factor in a 5% increase in wages, do an estimate tax return with taxcut, divide the Fed. & State amounts by 52 and have that amount withheld from my check every week.

I don't claim married and a number. This way I get a couple hundred back, the government did not get an interest free loan with much of my money all year & I avoid any penalties.

I was bummed that I could not get the interest write-off from my Camaro, past the income limit. Nobody said there was an income limit on the new car sales tax rebate when I bought the car.
