Job woes

It's gone from bad to worse at work. I work as an IT consultant for a certain bank in a certain queen city and the work environment is beyond belief. My manager has had several outbursts including one where he broke a phone in a conference room over nothing. I can empathize with the guy as he's gotten 2 pay cuts and a demotion, but his unprofessionalism is wreaking havoc on the entire moral of the team and its not where I need to be.

I have spoken to my vendor contact and she is looking into the matter. I will be putting my notice in for the end of the month.

I have come close to walking out the door several times and this morning I just found out that 2 of my team mates are leaving. I'm in a tough spot and will not be in this role come March 31st. Anyone in need of an IT professional in the Southeast who specializes in areas of: Database Administration/Migration, Quality Assurance, Change Management, SDLC methodologies, MOSS?

Im sorry that you are having this tough time at work. It is a tough job market out there. Just remember that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!

I completely understand your situation. You need to get out of that work environment as soon as possible. I hope you find something soon.

Bad situation. Just be smart about it and have another job lined up before you walk out the door.

I work with a lunatic tirant too. It sucks.

If I needed an IT guy here, I'd gladly hire a fellow C5 member, but I doubt we'd get anythig done. lol

Good luck. Maybe they'll get rid of him instead of allowing good employees to leave.

I feel for you, full of days. I used to be in the same situation, so when I decided to leave, a lady in another department told me "when you leave, don't look back...." That was all I needed to hear since everybody knew how bad my old boss was.

Dude, get outta there as soon as you can if it is that bad.

Yeah the market really does suck right now. Just be glad you're already trained in IT consulting and not just in house IT because they're getting rid of in house IT quicker than the consultants from what I hear.

Anyway, good luck finding something better! I think a lot of people are overworked and over stressed these days because companies are forcing more work on less people and on top of that they're doing things like giving pay cuts, stopping pay raises and removing benefits like 401k and health care.... But then again, everybody around me keeps saying, at least you have a job... So I guess there's nothing to complain about

I have to say that though your job probably stinks right now, not being able to find work may be worse. There are no jobs to be had right now. Don't leave without having some place to go first.
