It's dark, but not very dark - only rated PG. Yes, the price was great! We got to see it for free on Thursday evening IMAX 3D. A good overall movie, not great, but cool story with lots of weirdness thrown in. Yes, an 8 year old would do fine...IMO

I'm probably going to see it this weekend at a matinee. I don't really want to see it 3D because I know it won't be as good as Avatar was in 3D. Avatar was actually filmed using 3D cameras. Alice in Wonderland was filmed using 2D and they added 3D effects later, just as they did with Harry Potter 6, Superman, and a few others. These 3D effects seemed gimmicky to me and I don't want to ruin a good movie by lame 3D anymore.
