A lot of cars now use electronic throttle controls, i.e. a throttle position sensor connected to the PCM. But they said something about it being a wireless connection in the Toyota/Lexus which, if correct, is news to me.
Turned the damned car off! Just sayin...

Same with tossing it in N at speed, the computer over rides it and stays in gear.

Which I thank GM for not programming their vehicles (or at least my Cobalt) with...I'd HATE that...sometimes I just like to glide down hills.

But thank God even the early trans would not let you downshift at to high of a speed.

cruising at 60 and ya slam it down into 1 and punch it, it only goes down to 2.

All this fly by wire crap scares me, and I think work around would sell.

But still even I kinda still don't like FI cars and all you control is the air, as it just can't replace the feeling of a carb'ed car and instantly slammin all 4 wide open on a well tuned Qjet. The loud noises and toxic fumes are part of the experience

Wow...I can feel the retro nostalgia dripping off this post all the way over here.

Latest thing, Toyota is holding back crash data to CTA from the lawsuites, as only they can retrieve the data from the blackbox. No one in the states has em but the NTSB is suppose to be getting a couple.
