The flow of traffic doesn't set the speed limit. those little white and black signs on the side of the road do. Just saying....

I'm not making this stuff up, I have been pulled over illegally, arrested for something not pertaining to being pulled over and had the case thrown out becasue of this. Experience doesn't lie dude.
Well, if are pulled over illegally, then fight it and prove it.

So going 30 over and getting warned for it makes some cops cool. Getting tagged for 30 over makes some cops jerks. i understand it.

Not everyone likes cops. The problem being in that there is no universal system when it comes to tickets. You may get stopped 4 times for 15 over. You may end up with 0 tickets. I may get stopped for 15 over 4 times anfd get 4 tickets. Another guy may get 2 tickets and so on.

The deal is if you are doing something worng, be prepared to face the consequences of YOUR actions. Don't try to blame others for something YOU did.
Here's an idle question.

If everyone who gets nailed clearly deserves it and shouldn't have been speeding to begin with -- why aren't we on a thread for the Smart car and driving machines that are incapable of going over the speed limit? You really only need a 3-cylinder car to achieve "legal" highway speeds.

Why are we all on a board, clamoring with excitement over our 400 HP beasts when the fastest limit in America is 75 MPH?

For that matter, why are the cars even made? Do we really need a car with that much power? Do we need tires rated at 115 or 155? Why put a V8 in the SS instead of a 3-cylinder engine? It would still look cool with a small engine, wouldn't it?

if you are talking 3,4,5 blocks, sure I could say coincidence. But, see below.

Fair enough. Also, if the cops hasn't pulled over the car after 10 blocks, I will agree the cop is wasting time/money.

Actually, that's more wrong than the statement I made. Limits are made after an engineering firm tests a stretch of road and reports to the governing body what a "safe speed" is for that stretch of road. The governing body usually takes their recommendation and lowers it a good bit -- and that is what you see on those signs.

The "flow of traffic" sets the general tone for the group of people that are on the road at the same time. It's a well-known phenomenon.

And as it's been states numerous times (even by some cops) going a mere 10 miles over the limit isn't by definition 'wreckless.'

Nope, I don't. But neither do you. I think we can agree on that, right? I won't claim to know the intimate details of every accident posted to this site if you also agree that you don't know them either. Therefore, your sarcastic 'thank you' for your insurance going up due to those "stupid drivers' is a bit unwarranted.

More than likely someone just doing 10 mph over faster than another car is not going to get his painties in a wad by the one car doing the speedlimit...Unless he is a A hole.

I apologise to anyone thinking I was talking about those on here that have unfortunately been in an accident that was not their fault.
My remark only refers to those that were at fault or a result of some stupid action on the driver of the Camaro.

Actually, elected officials set speed limits. These are people that you and I choose to have in office. We are their bosses, and we have the power to remove them from their positions. The signs have often been there for decades, reflecting antiquated standards of driving at a particular speed in vehicles that would now fail most safety tests.

Sure I have, but if the flow of traffic is going 90 MPH in a 65 MPH zone, does that mean it's okay for you to do 90 MPH?
