I'm interested in how this new engine is going to sound. I saw that they put a different firing order in it, it has the old Flat head v8 firing order. And the cylinder heads are supposed to be better than even the Ford GT heads!
I read that about cylinders heads being better the GTs..
ford lost my business though when they advertise 2010 Mustang GT has ford racing supercharger available and doesnt void warrenty. I tried to do all that and no dealer would install the ford racing supercharger. They didnt want to warrenty it. I called ford racing and they said they cant force them to do it. I was so pissed. I wanted the suspension and supercharger. I didnt want a slow Mustang GT that a 4cylinder could beat.
So I got pissed at ford.

i know a few people who got a Ford Racing supercharger put on their mustangs and kept their warranty intact.

Sounds like you should be pissed at your local dealers. But if you thought a Mustang GT was "slow" and were scared of being beat by a "4cylinder", that camaro you bought isn't THAT much farther ahead.

It's a known fact that Mustangs can get beat by 4 cylinders, but a Camaro cannot get beat by a 4 cylinder. It is a known fact.

I don't know how accurate this is, but according to inside line the 2011 5.0 has put on weight and will no linger have the weight advantage it currently enjoys over the SS.

yea just I can wait to save up for supercharger..
only spent $31,500 on camaro SS
going to get Edelbrock E-Force Supercharger for $6,200 and they offer up to a 5yr/100K powertrain warrenty..

Am I the only one who wants the mustang to be faster than the camaro???? I only say this because if the mustang is faster... next model the camaro will up the ante to be even faster.

just to keep in mind some facts...

(hard to find those in a thread like this)

2011 mustang GT manual comes in at 8.7lbs/hp
2010 camaro SS manual comes in at 9.0lbs/hp

the new stang comes with higher gearing then we get (if i remember correctly, 3.41's stock or 3.73's with the track pack) compared to our 3.21's.

the gearing of the tranny's is the only thing unknow and assuming they've done what i'm sure they have; they've engineered the car to beat our beloved SS's.

that is assuming equally matched drivers and perfect replication of conditions.

----

but this is why i'm almost certain that GM is going for the throat of the snake with the new Z; kill the top dog and there wont be a next move to be made by the blue oval.
