Goodbye Dell!
I got a Dell laptop about 8 years ago my first computer. The thing ran good for about 2 years and then it started over heated and crashed. I actually received a letter in the mail that it could possibly start on fire because the battery was being recalled. After that I encountered another Dell Desktop it crashed about 6 times and I just had it fixed 4 weeks ago and now the stupid thing won't even turn on. Since I take several online classes for school I need a computer. I went over to Best Buy and looked at Hewlitt Packard laptops and I'm going to go pick it up later on this afternoon. My computer had to die at the wrong time when I'm broke with no money from my tuition and the new Camaro that I bought about 3 weeks ago. Thank god for 0% financing for 18 months. I intend to pay it pay it off this summer though.

Owned two Dells, had a few problems with the first one, had major problems with the second one that had to be fixed, but still pretty decent computers.

Bought an Alienware gaming laptop (they were bought out by Dell) and I've never had a problem with it.
That being said, Best Buy (around here) has some pretty sweet systems!!!

The problem with HP is the same problem for apple/mac stuff; they screw around with things inside so you can only buy their pricey replacement parts. Even when often the 3rd party vendor parts are much much better. Though both have loosened up some like apple/mac rolling over and using Intel x86 chips as 3rd place in the chips wars with their old as dirt rom systems was leading no where fast.

DELL
~Just a little update on my Dell. I took it in the repair shop and the power switch modeule went on it. It's going to cost me about $49 but at least its still running
At least now I will have my desktop back and my HP labtop for back ups.

I own an engineering firm and we have 6 dell Desktops, a Dell Server and 3 Dell Laptops and the units themselves are fine. Problems are usually software or user caused problems. The orignal laptop bought in 2001 still runs like a champ....Happy with Dell.
